A critical analysis is presented of designs intended to improve the ecological situation and working conditions in operating coke ovens, which has revealed the lack of a comprehensive approach. This has considered designs for dustless coke discharge, smokeless loading, and the removal of graphite, together with neglected topics of eliminating discharges in working coking ovens and in the burnup of coke during discharge and transportation. Designs are proposed for comprehensive servicing of all operations from the start of discharge to the end of loading. A distinctive feature is the removal of dust-gas discharges by steam-driven ejector pumps, with the gases cleaned in cyclones. Comparative tests have been performed on a pilot plant on the old No. 5 coking battery and the new No. This state decisively determines the volume of dust-gas discharges and the amount of dust trapped on discharging coke, while the state of the door lining covers the dust and gas discharges when the ovens are operated. It is confirmed that the dust carryover into the gas collectors on loading constitutes 6.3-7.5 kg/oven.
