The Journal of Visceral Surgery has doubled its impact factor in just two years!

Every year, the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI, Philadelphia, United States) publishes the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) that include a classification of journals worldwide, based on their impact factor (IF). And, behold, in its very first year of indexation, the Journal of Visceral Surgery, English version of the Journal de Chirurgie Viscérale, bursts forth among the surgical journals with an IF greater than 1! Exactly! The 2012 IF was 1.167, ‘‘a two-fold increase’’ compared to the French language version in 2011!
