As has been pointed out by us earlier [1], highly promising methods for industrial application are physico-chemical methods of separating cresol isomers, in particular m-and p-isomers, which are based on the use of selective organic solvents. Of interest in this connection is to review the publications devoted to the study of complex-formation in solutions of the individual cresol isomers with organic compounds of various chemical classes.The methods of investigation and thermodynamic estimation of the complex-formation of a number of aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds in solutions with organic compounds have earlier been considered by the present author [2, 3].
