The Museo Nacional de Ceramica 'Gonzalez Marti' and Ceramic Tile Collecting in Valencia

The museum founded by Manuel Gonzalez Marti in 1947 contains an enormous collection of Valencian ceramic tiles spanning the period from the middle ages right through to the twentieth century. Apart from thousands of single tiles, it has almost 200 tile compositions including 18 complete or fragmented sections of paving and wall tiling (dadoes, religious panelling, altars etc) from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with a total surface area of 400 square metres.
