摘要

Laboratory studies were conducted to compare the efficiency by varying the concentration of sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide and sludge (waste product of water treatment plant containing CaO) in absorption of SO2 contained in flue gases which is emitted from thermal power plant of Shree Cement Ltd., Beawar, Rajasthan. All of three situations were cases of absorption coupled with chemical reactions. Thus sodium hydroxide turned out to be better as compared to calcium hydroxide and sludge.
