In contrast to high-temperature coking, for the semicoking process (1-5) there are no quantitative relationships that would have enabled one to predict the yield of products as a function of the properties of the raw material processed. At the same time, such relationships are required in connection with the development of the thermolysis of low-metamorphized coals (6).The methods of mathematical statistics were used to treat the experimental data (see Table 1) that were obtained in the study of low-metamorphized brown (7) and hard (8) coals of Ukraine as raw materials for the thermolysis process. The purpose of the treatment of the data was to derive equations for the dependence of the response functions (the yield of principal products) on the input variables (the properties of coal: the volatile-matter yield, the nitrogen content and the total sulfur content of the dry mass).
