摘要

A theoretical analysis of a modified film step-index multimode fiber optic-evanescent wave chemical sensor which can be used for detection of vapour has been carried out. The numerical treatment is based on the ray theory of light. In present work, we have used multimode optical fiber. We have optimized the evanescent field for the development of chemical sensor. Various sensor parameters like critical angle, refractive index of core, and refractive index of cladding of optical fiber for maximum evanescent power has been optimized.
