Performance Measure of Single and Multithreaded Application for Green Computing on Multicore Platforms

In this work we explore the performance of multicpre CPUs for matrix multiplication application in terms of time of execution and power consumed. We compare the performance of single with multicore CPUs for single and multithread application in terms of speedup. As a step towards going green, we also compute approximate power consumed by the same. We study the performance for different compiler level optimization for different sizes of matrices.
