摘要

This paper presents the solution of economic dispatch (ED) problem with line flow and emission constraints using genetic algorithm (GA). A study mode dispatch, which provides the recommended dispatch for properly relieving the constraint violations if they exist, has also been presented in this paper. The genetic algorithm approach is illustrated with a sample power system. The solution obtained using GA on the sample power system is compared with the solution obtained by quadratic programming using Wolfe's algorithm. The comparison confirms the capability of the proposed method for economic dispatch with multiple constraints.
