In rapidly expanding horizon of science and technology, remote sensing has become an important and effective tool for geological exploration. Remote sensing has 'widened' man's ability to detect significant earth features in spectral ranges beyond the normal visibility range. Such observations have yielded useful, interesting and updated scientific information about Earth's resources. Satellite data forms an excellent source of information for understanding the geological set up of the area. The rocks are the association of mineral and each of the mineral has a characteristic chemical composition, When light interacts with these mineral assemblages, it absorbs and reflects depending on the chemical composition of the material. In the electromagnetic region, some of the diagnostic absorption and reflection peaks can be observed which helps in diagnosing this mineral.
