Mineralomimetic host-guest chemistry: the encapsulation of [M~(is contained in)[2.2.2]cryptate] (M = Na, K) by saddle shaped Ni(II) macrocycles

The complex [M~(is contained in)[2.2.2]cryptate][CB_(11)H_(12)][Ni(TMTAA)]_3, M = K, Na shows a range of supramolecular interactions to form a mineralomimetic structure corresponding to that of perovskite.
