摘要

To the Editor: Establishment of an effective healthcare system for elderly people with dementia is a major challenge. Primary care physicians (PCPs) are responsible for providing early detection and care for the majority of people with dementia in Japan, but several studies have found that PCPs consider themselves to be insufficiently qualified to treat dementia.1'2 Education regarding dementia is thus needed to help PCPs attain improved adherence to consultation for dementia, although consultations may vary widely according to physicians' attitudes toward dementia.1"6 The aim of this study was to identify physicians' attitude's toward consultation on dementing disorders and educational targets for PCPs with positive or negative attitudes toward consultation for dementia.
