American Pharmacists Association Foundation: A Catalyst for Change History of APhA Foundation provides microcosm of evolution of pharmacy practice in latter half of 20th century, revealing commitment to promote health and well-being of Americans

The American Pharmaceutical (now Pharmacists) Association (APhA) Foundation was incorporated in the District of Columbia on May 6, 1953. In making preparations for celebrating its 50th anniversary, George B. Griffenhagen was asked to research and record its history. A History of the APhA Foundation was distributed at the Foundation's annual meeting in New Orleans, March 2003. This article presents highlights of that history and is intended to serve as an archival reference for the written document.
