X-ray and microprobe analyses were employed for the investigation of Dy-Mn-Si system at 870/1070/1170 K. The Dy-Mn-Si system, contains the known DyMn_2Si_2, DyMnSi and Dy_2Mn_3Si _5 compounds and DyMn_4Si_2, Dy _2MnSi_2 and Dy_3Mn_2Si_3 were new compounds identified first time and their structure are of the type TmCu_4Sb_2, Sc_2CoSi_2 and Hf _3Ni_2Si_3 respectively. The quasi-binary solid solutions were detected at 870/1070/1170 K: the ThMn_(12)-type Dy _8Mn_(87)Si_5, Th_6Mn_(23)-type Dy_(23)Mn_(72)Si_5, MgCu_2-type Dy _(33)Mn_(58)Si_9 and AlB_2-type Dy _(38)Mn_2Si_(58). The other binary compounds of the Dy-Mn-Si system do not show any visible solubility. New phases R _2MnSi_2 and R_3Mn_2Si_3 (R=Gd, Tb, Ho-Tm) were found out and their structure of the type Sc _2CoSi_2 and Hf_3Ni_2Si_3 respectively. The specific features of 'Dy-Transition Metal-Si' systems were discussed.
