摘要

A preliminary isotopic evaluation using H-3 and C-14 dating based on a well-mixed reservoir model for groundwater in the arid irrigation zone in the upper reaches of the Peacock River, NW China was conducted in 2014 to reveal the renewal rate of the groundwater. The results show that the renewal rates are 0.004-1.9 and 0.01-0.7 % a(-1) for the unconfined water and confined water, respectively, which are very low and should be considered for sustainable development of groundwater in the study area.
