The growing popularity of mushroom can be gauged hy the fact that it is being sold in some big departmental stores and at Rythu Bazaars. Mushroom culture has caught the fancy of farmers and they have taken to its cultivation in a big way. Biodegradable matter includes kitchen, garden waste, unsold spoiled and discarded vegetables from market, vegetable and fruit peelings, food waste, dead leaves and plants. The scope of the work is to search an effective methodology for the production of nutritionalfood and better vegetable wasle management by cultivating Pleurotus florida Eger.
