Various methods of assessment of difference in volume of breasts have been described in literature. Most are cumbersome and require complicated instruments or investigation. We describe the use of chicken (silicone) fillets for measuring the differences in breast volume. This is a simple, inexpensive, and effective technique which involves the patient and uses commonly available products. Differences in breast volume in asymmetric breasts (acquired or congenital) can be difficult to assess. Various techniques such as using thermoplastic casts, 3D surface imaging using MRI, anthropometric measurements, Grossman Rounder measuring device, mammograms, photographs and breast implant sizers, have been described.
