摘要

Lai et al1 present an interesting technique using a Frontalis-Orbicularis Oculi Muscle (FOOM) transfer to correct blepharoptosis. The use of the Frontalis muscle to correct ptosis with poor levator function is well documented.2'3'4 The authors, however recommend their technique for blepharoptosis regardless of levator function, especially for severe or recurrent ptosis. We would suggest that this technique may not be the ideal procedure of choice for all severe ptoses and disagree with their suggestion that levator is too weak to correct severe or recurrent ptosis.
