I recently returned from the 2011 IPRAS meeting in Vancouver. Besides the encyclopedic program and spectacular venue, two things were noteworthy at the meeting. First, the large number of delegates who attended the sessions attired in coats and ties - a marked distinction from American meetings where casual attire rules the day. Second, the proliferation of iPads that many delegates used for note taking and other productive matters during the sessions. Paperless poster sessions were conducted continuously via a bank of large flat screen displays outside the main meeting hall. The only negative about the meeting was that frequently it was like a three-ring circus with delegates forced to choose which of the many simultaneous sessions to attend. I hope that by the next IPRAS meeting in Chile the quantum physics problem of being in more than one state at a time is solved by having the sessions simultaneously transmitted on a convention center Wi-Fi network. Attendees with iPads will be able to surf the sessions and decide what to watch in person and what on a screen. If the sessions are recorded, attendees will either be able to review them or see those that they missed
