IMPAIRED HAIR GROWTH (HYPOTRICHOSIS CONGENITAL) IN INBRED RABBITS (ORYCTOLAGUS CUNICULUS)

The development of occurring genetic effects and abnormalities in California rabbits product of narrow inbreeding (Fx = 0.5) were followed out. As a result, hairless bunnies with congenitally impaired hair growth -Hypotrichosis congenita - were born.The observed negative effects resulted from increased homozygosis, which on its part creates conditions for the appearance of recessive mutations and inbreeding depression.
