摘要

An efficient procedure is suggested for complete removal of residues of ethylenebisdithiocarbamate fungicides and their toxic metabolite ethylenethiourea. The degradation process has been followed by TLC and HPLC. The Optimum conditions for the complete inactivation of the compounds in raw vegetables treated with ethylenebisdithiocarbamate fungicides have been found to be preliminary treatment with 0.1% aqueous potassium permanganate and subsequent washing with 0.2% aqueous citric acid and water.
