Phenomenological theory for the neutral kaon system beyond the effective Hamiltonian formulation

摘要

The neutral kaon system is described conventionally by a 2 x 2 static non-Hermitian effective Hamiltonian. The corrections to the formulation can be classifed into two classes: one is a power-type correction which changes the exponential behaviour of the time evolution operator and the other changes the coefficients in front of the exponential. We show that the second type of correction is much larger than the first one. However, these effects are of the order of 10(-14) or less, far beyond the range of foreseeable CPT or CP violation neutral kaon experiments. [References: 16]
