In February 2003,BP installed the first coiled-tubing (CT)-deployed electrical submersible pump (ESP) in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).The Grand Isle 40 Well F-1 had been producing for several years with 2 7/8-in.jointed tubing,and the two previous ESPs had lasted 16 and 30 months.
