Analysis of synchrotron FTIR spectra has revealed new assignments for a number of optically pumped far-infrared laser lines from the (CH3OH)-O-17 isotopologue of methanol, with definitive confirmation provided by recent accurate measurements of the laser frequencies. In this Note the lasing energy level systems are discussed, and the spectroscopic evidence for the assignments is presented. (C) 2015 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
