摘要

ACCREDITATION GRANTED by external regulatory agencies is sought by hospitals and requires implementation of a rigorous self-assessment/review process to continually monitor staff and organizational performance to meet multiple structure, process, outcome, and care delivery standards. Organizational performance criteria from local, state, and national credentialing, accreditation, and/or regulatory agencies (eg, Department of Health, Joint Commission (JC), and Magnet designation) are numerous and ever changing. Nursing leadership and staff play a critical role in ongoing monitoring and auditing to measure compliance with these many regulatory requirements, while working to deliver safe, efficient, cost effective, and quality patient care.
