Oxo biodegradables may be among the technologies criticised in a recent report from the us on degradable additives (see feature, p.6), but Asia continues to commit to the technology as a resolution to plastic waste. pakistan’s Federal minister for Climate Change, Rana Farooq saeed Khan, announced legislation mandating that all disposable plastics manufactured, sold, used or imported into the islamabad Capital territory (covering islamabad and Rawalpindi) must be oxo biodegradable.
