An evaluation of multicoloured granitic rocks from Bundelkhand granitic complex, Uttar Pradesh as dimension stone

The Bundelkhand granitic complex (BGC) exposes a variety of granitic rocks and associated basic intrusives, covering an area of about 11,000 km~2 in southern parts of Uttar Pradesh. In the last decade, the northern region of Geological Survey of India did, a resource survey of these granitic rocks and basic intrusive (commercially known as multicoloured and black granite respectively) to understand their viability as dimension stone. Evaluation of these multicoloured granites as dimension stone has been attempted on the basis of the field and laboratory studies. From prehistoric times to present day. granite is being used by mankind in different form ranging from tools for hunting to decorative stones. In modern world, multicoloured granites are in large demand in the international and domestic markets for their use as dimension/decorative stone.
