The complexity of underground mines, with the large network of underground roads, means that good communications has always been a challenge to mine operators. Mine Site Technologies (MST) has been developing and supplying underground communications for 20 years with installations in over 350 mines around the world. MST uses a combination of technologies to deliver an overall solution to meet an individual mine's safety and productivity requirements. To this end, the two broad areas of technology which MST now focuses on are:
