FEATURES OF LOW TEMPERATURE EFFECT UPON STRENGTH OF ENCLOSING ROCK AND KIMBERLITE IN THE 'UDACHNAYA' PIPE

摘要

The effect exerted by low temperatures on the strength of rocks in the "Udachnaya" pipe is investigated. It is shown that the minimal strength corresponds to the temperatures of 268-253 K, which is associated with the processes of water freezing in pores of rocks.
