Hot corrosion resistance of Ni and Ni-base superalloys

Many electrochemical test methods have been developed for the assessment of the hot corrosion resistance of gas turbine materials [1-6]. Although it is difficult to correlate the data from these tests with the corrosion rates of materials in service, it is accepted that electrochemical tests are fast and less costly screening tests, especially compared with burner rig tests.
