Water is an important ligand for the perforation of green pellets; bentonite is also used as a ligand [1-4]. Generally, bentonite improves the performance of green pellets and increases the pellets' dryness and fire strengths. In foundiy and pelletizing ore, loss of water upon heating the bentonite to high temperatures will eventually result in a loss of the bonding capacity. Several papers report on the amount of bentonite and water necessary for the performation of pellet ores [1,2,4].
