摘要

From the outset, we would like to thank Benjamin (2010) for a well-conceived and executed paper. As interest in submerged prehistoric landscapes increases, it is important to begin an international and interregional dialogue on methods and findings. Benjamin does an excellent job of describing the methods used to identify submerged landscapes in Northern Europe and provides a framework for discussing these methods in an international context. While he does reference recent North American literature, our comments are aimed at adding a southern and eastern North American perspective to the described methods in order to expand his discussion to the regions in which we work.
