Influence of meteorological variables on pan evaporation under humid climatic conditions of Dapoli.

The most influencing parameter affecting the pan evaporation at Dapoli, Maharashtra, India, was maximum temperature, which positively affected the pan evaporation. The maximum relative humidity also played significant role during non-monsoon seasons, which showed the negative relation with the evaporation rate. Weekly minimum ambient temperature and wind velocity had shown a non-significant effect and the least correlation with weekly pan evaporation. Weekly sunshine duration showed all time positive significant correlation (r=0.777) with weekly pan evaporation at P<0.01.
