U.S.coal exports may be rising,but not to Japan

The United States exported 12.7 million tonnes of coaf during the January to April period,according to statistics released by the U.S.Customs Bureau.Canada was the largest customer,taking 4.40 million tonnes of coal during the four month period.Brazil takes second place with 1.40 million tonnes,while Itafy is the third largest consumer of U.S.coal at 1.18 million tonnes.It is interesting to note that Japan imported 0.238 tonnes during the four month period.Japan's imports of U.S.coal in April alone totaled a paul-try sum of 131 tonnes.
