Effect of organic products on onion thrips (Thrips tabaci Lind.) in onion crop (Allium cepa L.) grown under mid-hill conditions of Himachal Pradesh.

Investigations were carried out for two consecutive years (2006-08) at Khaltoo farm of Seed Technology and Production Centre of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (Himachal Pradesh). The study revealed that minimum thrips population (2.45 nymphs/plant) and higher onion bulb yield (208.33 q/ha) were recorded with recommended dose of fertilizers at the time of planting and spray of fipronil @ 1 ml/litre of water. All the treatments were superior over control with respect to the onion bulb yield.
