摘要

Novaluron (Rimon 10 EC), an insect growth regulator having novel mode of action, was evaluated at three doses, viz. 25, 37.5 and 50 g a.i./ha for the control of bollworms at farmers' fields on cotton during 2005 and 2006. During 2005, the damage of spotted bollworm, Earias spp. varied from 6.96 to 9.13 per cent in shed fruiting bodies, 1.36 to 2.76 per cent on boll basis and 1.20 to 1.85 per cent on loculi basis in novaluron which were significantly lower than in deltamethrin and endosulfan. The seedcotton yield was also significantly higher in novaluron as against standard checks. During 2006, against American bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Hiibner), spinosad 45 SC proved to be the best treatment in reducing the incidence in shed fruiting bodiesand damage on boll and loculi basis followed by novaluron @ 50 and 37.5 g a.i./ha. Although the incidence of American bollworm was less in spinosad but yield was comparatively higher in novaluron @ 50 and 37.5 g a.i/ha as against spinosad and chlorpyriphos.
