摘要

Classically termed "necrotizing fasciitis," ne-crotizkig soft tissue infections (NSTIs) are a heterogeneous group of rapidly progressing, potentially fatal infections involving 1 or more soft tissue components: skin, subcutaneous fat, superficial and deep fascia, and muscle. There are between 500 and 1500 cases reported annually in the United States, and the incidence may be increasing.1'2 Many classification schemes have been proposed since the first modern description of the disease by Joseph Jones in 1871, but none have proved clinically useful because the mainstays of therapy remain unchanged: resuscitation, early and aggressive debridement, and broad-spectrum antibiotic coverage
