Performance of Frenchbean at different dates of sowing and plant densities in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh

Field experiments were conducted during rabi seasons of 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 in sandy loam soil to study the performance of Frenchbean (rajmash) at different dates of sowing and plant densities. The results revealed that significantly higher number of pods/plant, number of seeds/ pod, 100-seed weight (g) and seed yield (kg ha~(-1)) were recorded when Frenchbean is sown during the second fortnight of October to first week of November. Further, sowing Frenchbean at 30 x 10 cm spacing was foundto produce optimum plant density for recording significantly higher seed yields over wider spacings in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh.
