In order to evaluate the effect of mycorrhiza and phosphorus application on some quantitative and qualitative attributes of corn (cv. KSC647), a randomized complete block design based factorial experiment was carried out in experimental field of Islamic Azad University, Miyaneh Branch in 2007. The mycorrhiza Glomus mosseae was used at two levels (control and 2 g seed coating) and net phosphorus was applied at four levels (P 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha) from ammonium phosphate 46% source. Results showed the significant effect of mycorrhiza on seed yield, biomass, harvest index, cob weight, kernel number on cob rows, thousand kernel weight and seed protein percentage. However, seed row number per cob was not affected by mycorrhiza, because of it's genetically controlled. Phosphorus effect was significant on cob weight, protein percentage and cob harvest index. Seed row number per cob was not affected by phosphorus application, either. The highest cob weight and cob harvest index were obtained by 150 kg/ha phosphorus application with mycorrhiza inoculation. Applying phosphorus at 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha levels increased yield up to 62, 101, and 124% in comparison to the control, respectively. Mycorrhiza inoculation with 150 kg/ha phosphorus resulted in the highest seed yield, while no application of mycorrhiza and phosphorus caused the least seed yield.
