Germplasm collection of celery (Apium graveolens L.) involving 30 accessions were evaluated for five genetic parameters and correlations among different characters. The relative importance of component characters were measured by path-coefficient andfactor analysis. Analysis of six characters showed genotypic correlations stronger than the phenotypic correlation, the highest being between seed yield/plant and oil yield/plant. Heritability (broad sense) and genetic advance as percent of mean was higher for seed yield/plant The path coefficient analysis at genotypic level showed seed yield/plant to have a maximum direct effect on oil yield /plant and the number of umbels/plant the maximum indirect effect on seed yield and oil yield /plant. The factoranalysis revealed the number of umbels /plant to be the most important yield component. Direct improvement of this character can improve the yield significantly.
