The aphid populations of Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India, were bioassayed against piperonyl butoxide (PBO) combined with endosulfan, monocrotophos, dimethoate, phosphamidon, carbaryl and cypermethrin at 1:5 and 1:10 ratios. The synergistic factors at LC50 due to mixing of endosulfan with PBO were 2.54 for 1:5 ratio and 3.50 for 1:10 ratio. The degree of synergism slightly increased with an increase in the synergistic ratio from 1:5 to 1:10 ratio at LC50. PBO synergized monocrotophos by 3.33-fold for 1:5 ratio and 4.12-fold for 1:10 ratio at LC50. The synergistic factors due to mixing of dimethoate with PBO were 1.92 for 1:5 ratio and 2.40 for 1:10 ratio at LC50. Phosphamidon was synergized by PBO up to 2.15-fold for 1:5 ratio and 4.94-fold for 1:10 ratio at LC50. The synergistic factors due to mixing of PBO with carbaryl were 1.28 and 1.88 for 1:5 and 1:10 ratio, respectively, at LC50. Cypermethrin in combination with PBO showed synergistic factors of 4.44 for 1:5 ratio and 6.67 for 1:10 ratio at LC50.
