Depart the combat support hospital, return to our Black-hawk helicopter, and return to base.It has been a challenging hour, and we are exhausted. Both our patients are expected to survive. We are beginning the second hour of the first 12-hour shift. This was our very first mission on arrival in theater. We will do this for the next 220 days of our lives.
