The Leicester University Mesoscopic Particle Source (Lumps) is a newly invented machine created in the English Midlands and capable of producing metal particles that can be used to create new materials. It arranges the properties of the particles into atomic clusters measured in nanometres (one nanometre is a millionth of a millimetre).
