摘要

This paper focuses on the combination of Interface Switching technology and IP backbone network. The concept of Interface Switching Network Architecture is proposed in which control plane is separated from data plane. In the data plane, Interface Switching technology is adopted and packets are forwarded based on the ISeq of the path carried in the header, without the look-up operation on FIB, which makes packet switching much easier and faster. In the control plane IP routing protocols are extended to collect routing information and the available resources to serve data plane. The performance evaluation is conducted through theoretical analysis and simulation experiment. The results show that Interface Switching forwarding program can provide the forwarding bandwidth five times as that of IP forwarding program under the same condition which fully illustrates the advantage of Interface Switching Network Architecture in data forwarding.
