摘要

Solid-phase chemistry was initially almost exclusively devoted to tide synthesis. However, with the growing use of solid-phase and combinatorial methods for the preparation of more complex organic molecules, more challenging chemistry is now being carried out routinely on the solid phase. The increasing degree of sophistication of the chemistry being performed means that increasing numbers of syntheses conducted on the solid phase require the use of protecting group strategies.
