Traditionally,classroom learning is a relatively passive experience for students who receive input from instructors but are rarely given the opportunity to fulfill their potential as active learners.The advanced undergraduate laboratory described here is the first course in Puerto Rico to successfully bridge the gap between passive and active learning in the classroom by introducing a number of innovative techniques.
