Building Skills with Reiterative Lab Projects

Students pursuing an associate degree in chemistry need to learn technical and workplace skills in just two years of college education. Because of time constraints, instructors often assign tasks to teach or reinforce more than one skill simultaneously. In chemistry laboratory courses, experiments are the vehicle providing multiple-skill learning for studuents. While experiments illustrate concepts and teach proper lab techniques, students often wrote the lab report and received comments or corrections from the instructor. It would rein-force the skills learned if the student could repeat an experiment to demonstrate their new understanding or improved technique.
