BACKGROUND: In this work a novel scheme was developed for nitrifying and denitrifying biological phosphorus removal via nitrite, the anaerobic co-digestate of waste activated sludge, and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR).
