摘要

In the 3rd Annual Global Supply Chain Survey, some significant issues have dropped in importance, but quality and cost are still concerns of companies that outsource. When it comes to extended supply chains, there are some significant challenges, according to the companies responding to the Third Annual Supply Chain Survey, conducted for World Trade 100 and the University of Tennessee by BNP Media's market research division. Among the issues highlighted by respondents to the 2013 survey are concerns over quality, cost and finding supply chain and logistics talent. Asked broadly about how business operations are handled, on average, about a quarter of company operations are outsourced offshore, a tenth is nearshored and about seven out of 10 are sourced within the company. Although more than half of respondents felt the extent of outsourcing over the next two years at their current employer would remain the same, those who expect an increase have dropped from 42 percent in 2011 to 32 percent in 2013.
