Iron ore suppliers fail to raise prices above $180/t C&F in China again

Foreign iron ore suppliers have been quite successful this week in China. Some local consumers have resumed buying the material by now after long silence. Besides, prices for some steel products have increased, thus spurring the growth of iron ore quotations. However, demand has subsided by the end of the week, so fewer contracts are signed now. Nevertheless, prices for the material have increased on Friday due to speculations about record high daily steel output in China and a number of contracts signed at higher levels.
